Dresses by Quiksilver Women’s: With holiday parties come a good excuse to get all dolled up and put on a fabulous dress. The Audrey is a cap-sleeve dress in silk, which has alternating panels of tulle in the front and back, a satin removable slip with tulle trim, knife pleats at the front, a shirttail hem, hidden pockets along the seam, and exposed satin zipper detail at the back.

The Lily dress features a silky brushstroke plaid print and a solid vest bodice with a racerback, exposed satin zipper detail at the side seam, a shirttail hem in the back, decorative stitch detail, and fabric covered buttons. I plan on wearing both of these dresses during Christmas festivities this month.

Diorshow Mascara by Christian Dior: When I was in Sephora last week, I decided to splurge on some new mascara because I haven’t been loving my regular Maybelline so much lately. I wanted something ultra-glam, so I picked up a tube of Diorshow, which is Sephora’s best seller both in-store and online. I have to admit, it lived up to the hype. This is hands down the best mascara that I’ve ever used (and I’ve pretty much tried ‘em all). Long, black, separated, curled, thickened lashes! No clumps, no smudges. It even keeps my naturally very straight lashes curled to perfection all day.

Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Eyeshadow Mosaic: Four shades in one compact, which can be used alone or together to create the perfect look. I have a makeup kit full of MAC shadows from my days as a makeup artist that I’m absolutely bored with. I picked one of these mosaic kits up in “Sultry” and it’s just that. I love it.

7 For All Mankind Flynt Jean in New York Dark: Despite my seemingly large collection of denim, I’m always on the look out for that next, perfect pair. I know that a good pair of jeans can last years, will go with any outfit and most importantly, that there’s nothing better than putting on a pair of jeans that you look and feel hot in. I recently added a pair of Flynts by Seven to my wardrobe. They’re the ultimate go with everything, classic that I’ve been looking for.

Kérastase Ciment Thermique: With the massive popularity of heat styling tools, especially hair straighteners and blowdryers, it is becoming more and more important to protect your hair from the extreme heat these tools put on your hair. No matter how good the tools you use are – any extreme heat will sooner or later have a damaging effect on your hair, causing it to split or break off or making the colour of your hair fade. This is where Kérastase Ciment Thermique comes in. Basically, it’s a Thermo-cosmetic reconstructing milk which reinforces weakened hair. Activated by heat, Ciment Thermique covers the hair fibre, adding a layer of protection and moisture to the hair. The hair is left firm, supple and strengthened, with added shine. I have never been more impressed with a product’s ability to do what it claims it will do.

UGG boots: These have become an absolute staple in my world. They are by far, the most comfortable footwear in the universe. I was happy to (finally) replace my old and very well worn “two tones” with a brand new pair last week. My cozy toes thank me.

C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine/ Breath Freshener: A mint-infused lip balm, which provides a glossy high shine as well as a refreshing, cooling sensation. It keeps your lips moist and protected while peppermint oil gives your breath long lasting freshness. I’m completely addicted to this stuff. Plus, the mint makes me think of something else that I love this time of year…

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Twist: ‘Tis the season to indulge. I’m pretty sure that I don’t need to go into detail about why this makes my list. This particular drink is key for the holiday season. In fact, it’s very likely that I will get one this afternoon.
What are your must haves for this month?

The lovely Rebecca Bollwitt of Miss604.com (who is in my opinion, the Queen of Vancouver Blogs) has created what she’s calling the Best of 604. It’s the people’s choice awards, celebrating the best of Metro Vancouver online.

Today is Keira-Anne’s birthday. If you read her blog, you know that she’s quite a girl. She’s as cool and smart as she is beautiful. She could give Martha Stewart a run for her money in the kitchen any day and can whip up the most amazing batch of chocolate chip cookies you’ve ever tasted in your life in the snap of her perfectly manicured fingers. Animal lover, fashionista, Frye boot wearing blogger and absolute sweetheart, Keira-Anne also happens to be one of my all time favourite people to go on adventures with…especially in the rain. She has a huge heart, which she keeps her friends and family very close to at all times. I certainly feel blessed to call her a friend of mine.
So today, I want to wish Keira the happiest of birthdays. We must celebrate over cocktails when I get back to town.
You can go ahead and give the birthday girl some love today right here.

I can’t even tell you how amazing it has been to soak up the California sun for the last couple days. San Diego is such a cool city. Sometimes I fantasize about what it would be like to live here.
Yesterday, we hopped on the trolley and hit up Fashion Valley. It’s unlike any mall that I have ever been to in my entire life. Imagine: Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and Barneys all in the same place. Not to mention an absolutely massive Victoria’s Secret and Sephora, plus pretty much any other store that you could possibly imagine. We hit every one of them. Despite the current state of the economy down south, shoppers were out in full force. Elbows were flying as people all seemed to be in search of the ultimate deal. The sales and bargains were abundant- from the denim, shoes and handbags in the department stores to Louis Vuitton, Coach and Gucci.

Barneys proved to be my most successful stop of the day. I found the MARC by Marc Jacobs Dr. Q Lil Riz bag that I’ve been lusting after. To my delight, it was marked down to more than 50% off, and so was the matching wallet. Knowing full well that the chances of ever seeing that combo at a price so low again were slim to none, I did what any Marc Jacobs loving girl would do. I bought them. The perma-grin hasn’t left my face since my big purchase.
After a yummy dinner with the girls this evening, we ordered some chocolate covered strawberries to go. Then we put on our pajamas and all got together in one hotel room to watch Britney: For The Record. Not surprisingly, I got totally emotional. I just want to give Britney a big hug.

Tomorrow, the “vacation” part of my trip ends and the “business” part begins. Please forgive the lack of updates this week as my time in front of the computer will most definitely be limited.
