Do Your Best And You’ll Get Better…
…practice, practice, practice.
The Vancouver Canucks invited fans to attend an open NHL practice today at General Motors Place. Val, Lan and I were there bright and early to watch the Alumni game and to participate in the pre-practice concourse activities. I was heartbroken when I discovered that my dream of getting my face painted was going to be shattered. The line-up was way too long and I couldn’t rubber arm anybody into waiting with me. I managed to get over it and settled into a seat to watch the boys scrimmage, stretch and work their butts off while doing drill after drill. We were surrounded by some of the youngest and most adorable mini- Canucks fans I’ve ever seen. My broken heart melted. This free event was perfect for families who can’t afford the steep ticket prices during the regular season. God knows it costs an arm and a leg to attend a game these days.
The Canucks also gave out tons of great prizes throughout the event, including autographed sticks used by the players. A highlight was the shootout challenge, which we followed up with a rather lengthy photo shoot in our seats.
